Alluring Aquatic eye shadows and lipsticks review

So continuing from the posts before lets talk eye shadows, I can honestly say that I was super super superr impressed by these eye shadows and rather upset that I didn’t get all six of them. Similar to the other items in the collection the packaging was sea blue and had the 3D water droplets.

These eye shadows are extra dimension eye shadows, and are CRAZY pigmented with a long wear. Lorelei is a gold metallic coloured eye shadow and Soul serenade is a dark grey metallic eye shadow. Both eye shadows can be applied lightly for a less intense colour or can be layered to give a strong opaque metallic colour.

I use Lorelei lightly as a base colour during the day, or I spray my brush with studio fix and use the eye shadow all over the eye lid; spraying my brush with studio fix intensifies the colour of eye shadow and deepens the metallic colour. Soul Serenade is the eye shadow I always turn to when I choose to do a dark eye look, I might even say it’s my new favourite! These eye shadows retailed for £16.50 (GBP) each, I have not found any eye shadows similar to this in the mac range although I do think that there are similar eye shadows in the urban decay range.

The two lipsticks in the collection are the usual bullet shaped lipstick in the sea blue with the 3D water droplets.

Goddess of the sea is a dark violet colour with a cremesheen finish and has an opaque colour on the lips.

I use this lipstick with a soft purple or silver eye makeup. I usually find cremesheens quite hydrating for my lips although this seemed to dry after a while. This lipstick was a long lasting lipstick for me lasting from the beginning of a day until lunch time. This lipstick retailed for £16.50 (GBP), I have not found a similar lipstick colour in the mac collection.

Mystical is a mid rose colour with a cremesheen finish and has an opaque colour on the lips.

Mac’s Alluring aquatic collection

Hi my lovelies,

It took me quite some time to choose what I wanted to write about as my first post…it had to be something limited edition (of course) and something I loved! So here are my picks can from mac’s alluring aquatic collection! (I wrote this post at first and it was extremelyyyy long… so I have helped you all by cutting the article into the various different products with this blog post being about the collection itself)

My picks from the collection

This is truly one of my favourite collections. From this collection I bought a 127 brush, an eyeliner  (black swan), two eyeshadows  (Lorelei & Soul Serenade,) two lipsticks (Goddess of the sea & Mystical), a bronzer (refined golden) and a blush (seduced at sea).

Firstly, let’s take a second to admire the packaging… It can be seen that mac has really worked hard on the packaging. The items are all a sea blue colour with water droplets on the packaging…yes…water droplets! What’s amazing about the packaging is that the droplets are not embossed, they are 3D…meaning that you can actually feel the drops!

Water drops

This collection was released on April the 22nd, although we did not expect this collection to be out at this date, it sure did sell out fast online! Similarly when this collection launched in stores it was sold out rather fast! I went to Selfridges London not after launch date and found that many of the products were out sold out. I’m sure I don’t have to also explain how many people were grabbing the items of the collection and swatching them! I could not deal with this after a long day of university! So the following day that I did not have university I went to my local mac counter which is within House of Fraser. I was so happy to see that many items were in store and that there was not many people, meaning that I could leisurely swatch items and ask for help! This made me a very happy Henna!
